A curious mind at the intersection of economics, math, and creativity.

I am a rising senior at the University of Maryland in a joint program with China Agricultural University, majoring in Agricultural and Resource Economics with a second major in Mathematics. My interests lie in data science, statistics, real-world evidence, and their applications to health.

Growing up immersed in Chinese culture and pursuing my studies in the U.S., I bring two different frames of thinking to how I look at problems. I tend to learn best by doing and building things. Much of my growth comes from wrestling with messy, real-world data to figure out what it can tell us. That has played out across different settings: analyzing sentiment in finance-related social-media posts at ByteDance, sorting through clinical-related evidence at Bayer, and even tinkering on small personal apps in my own time.

✨ Fun Facts About Me

🧭

I wear heat patches in air-conditioned rooms.
I have IBS, so even in the middle of summer, you might find me in a freezing room with a heat patch stuck to my lower back. It looks a little strange, but my stomach seems to approve.

💊

I know a suspicious amount about acupuncture points.
I love exploring traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and different pressure points. Whenever my body complains, I somehow end up researching which point I’m supposed to press.

📝

I’m trying to be an IELTS blogger while still working on my own English.
I share my English-learning experiences on Xiaohongshu, even though I definitely don’t consider myself an English expert yet.

🍝

I genuinely enjoy eating alone.
Shanghai cuisine and Japanese food are my favorites, and during holidays I love searching all over Beijing for new restaurants. A table for one is actually my ideal plan.

🎀

Perler beads are my newest obsession.
Placing hundreds of tiny beads one by one somehow puts me into a flow state. It’s probably the closest I get to meditation.

🧸

I take plush toys very seriously.
I especially love ones with super soft, realistic fur. If there’s a plush toy nearby, I will probably touch it before I even realize what I’m doing.

🤺

I keep trying to become a sports person.
I’ve tried figure skating, skiing, running, working out, and most recently, climbing. I’m not naturally athletic or particularly consistent, but apparently I refuse to give up.

🍚

My favorite dish is still my grandpa’s braised eggplant.
I’ve tried plenty of good food, but nothing has beaten the braised eggplant my grandpa used to make for me when I was little.

"I don't need to master everything. I just need to stay curious enough to keep trying."

Let's create something wonderful together.

Whether it's a data project, a creative collaboration, or just a chat about the latest AI tool, I'd love to hear from you.
